Dr. Jason W. Clark
Lead Pastor
Jason and his family moved to Mt. Washington in July of 2018. Jason grew up in Maceo, Kentucky and graduated from Campbellsville University (’97), and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (’00 and ’07). Previously he served as Pastor of Salvisa Baptist Church (KY) and First Baptist Church of Athens (TN). He and his wife, Tina, have five children, Lindsey, Lucas, Landon, Logan, and Lauren.
BRENT THORNTON DISCIPLESHIP & MISSIONS
Brent is originally from Campbellsville, KY. After serving in the army, he returned to Campbellsville and completed his undergraduate degree, then attended The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Brent’s ministry roles have included staff positions, pastoring, and working as the Director of Missions for the Blackford Breckinridge Baptist Association. He is married to Julie, and they have five children.
CLAY SMITH WORSHIP
Clay joined the FBCMW staff in January 2023. He is originally from Ridgeway, South Carolina. He graduated with honors from Lee University with a Music & Worship degree. Currently, Clay is an MDiv student at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, with an emphasis in Christian Ministry. Clay loves rock climbing, hiking, kayaking, and writing music to the glory of God!
BEN SIMMONS youth/activities
Ben joined the FBCMW staff in December 2020 after moving from Northern Virginia to Louisville in mid-August. He grew up in Northern Virginia and attended Liberty University to pursue undergraduate music and worship studies. Ben is currently a student at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where he is hoping to complete an MDiv. When he is not involved in musical endeavors, Ben also enjoys a wide array of outdoor activities.
DAULTON PETERS CHILDREN’S MINISTRY DIRECTOR
Daulton, his wife Savannah, and their son Oakley moved to Mount Washington in July of 2022 from Nicholasville Kentucky. He joined the staff as Children’s Ministry Director in July of 2024. He graduated from Asbury University in Wilmore Kentucky in 2018 with a bachelors in Youth Ministry. He and his wife met playing basketball for Asbury. He served previously as Children’s and youth ministry director at Anchor Baptist Church from 2014 up until 2024.
Melanie CookE Women’s Discipleship/Biblical Counseling
Melanie joined our staff in February 2022. She was born in Texas, but grew up in Eastern Kentucky. Her family became members of our church in 1999. Melanie is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and received her Masters in Biblical Counseling. She is married to her husband, Scott, and they have two grown children, Alex and Ashley. In October of 2021, they welcomed their first grandbaby, Tatum Mae.
DEBBIE LOWE
Financial Administration
Debbie joined our staff in September 2023. She is originally from Louisville and attended the University of Louisville studying accounting. Debbie has a PMP certification. Previously Debbie and her husband Kerry have owned a healthcare software company and an IT company. Debbie works part-time Monday – Wednesday taking care of the church’s financial needs and assisting others. She enjoys boating, camping, walking and spending time with family and friends. She attends Southeast Christian Church.
Jarrett Williams Pastoral assistant
Jarrett joined our staff in 2024. He is originally from Avon Park, Florida. He is a graduate of Boyce College (B.A) and from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div). Jarrett enjoys reading, hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking, playing music, and watching the Georgia Bulldogs.
Penny Franklin
CLC Ministry Assistant
Penny Franklin is our Ministry Assistant to Outreach, Assimilation and Activities. She has been with FBCMW since April of 1984. Penny graduated from Sullivan College with an Associate Degree in Business. Penny is married to Jamie and they have three children, Jacob, Noah and Sarah. Penny enjoys crafting and camping.
Lloyd Dooley
Media/av Specialist
Lloyd, a lifelong resident of Mt. Washington, began working as a volunteer with the media ministry in the early 1990s, continuing that until joining the FBCMW staff in February 2008. He has an AA degree from JCC and a BS in Business Information Systems from Indiana Wesleyan. He and his wife Pam have been married since 1976. They have one daughter and two grandchildren. When time allows he loves hiking, biking, camping, and other outdoor activities.
