Staff Ministry Assistant/Church

FBCMW is seeking a qualified individual to fill a full-time position of Ministry Assistant. This person will serve the church by being the main contact for membership information, deacon ministry, as well as the ministry assistant to the Pastor and Minister of Discipleship and Missions. This person must have strong people skills and the ability to multitask. Salary (with benefits) based on education and experience.

Reports to: Minister of Discipleship and Missions

Non-Exempt Employee

Principle Function/Role: The Staff Ministry Assistant/Church serves the church by being the main contact for membership information, deacon ministry, and ministry assistant to the Pastor and Minister of Discipleship and Missions.

 Education, Skills, and Abilities

1.   Minimum high school diploma or GED and three (3) years of experience in related field

2.   Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, G-suite, and social media.

3.   Familiar with task management software.

4.   Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, effective oral and written communication.

5.   Proactive, well organized, and detail oriented.

6.   Thrives in a team setting, is service-minded and flexible.

7.   Supportive in assorted office administrative tasks.

8.   Multi-tasking, prompt execution, high initiative, and strong name-face recognition.

 Areas of Responsibility

1.     Answer the church phone, screen, and direct calls with a positive and helpful spirit

2.     Review/respond/redirect voicemails/emails in a timely manner

3.     Effectively communicate with staff, congregation members, and facility guests to conduct the business of the church

4.     Responsible for updating/entering/maintaining the Church Master calendar with important dates, room reservations, meeting times, etc.

5.     Maintain the church website and social media outlets with up-to-date information

6.     Establish and maintain membership records in the membership software system

7.     Prepare and meet deadlines for church publications: church newsletter, bulletin, Wednesday Night Update (as needed)

8.     Assist ministry staff with baptism process, baby dedications and notifications of those involved with each process

9.     Prepare/collect/submit annual church profile to Nelson Baptist Association

10.   Process all automated bulk mailings for FBC

11.   Work with Church Council and Nominating Committee's for administrative purposes

12.   Prepare and distribute weekly staff meeting agendas and weekly staff notes

13.   Maintain New member/guest packets (this includes copying materials needed for the packets and collecting information each week) (10 packets of each to be kept at all times)

14.   Order and distribute quarterly Education Literature, and order office supplies as needed

15.   Work with the Deacon Communion team to order communion supplies

16.   Prepare and distribute the potential deacon candidate list in cooperation with the deacon body chairperson

17.   Cooperate and assist the Deacon body chairperson and deacon team leaders as needed

18.   Update and maintain the widow/homebound list

19.   Assist the Pastor and the Minister of Discipleship and Missions in fulfilling their ministry by maintaining their calendar, making appointments, maintaining files as directed

20.   Type all correspondence and sermons for the pastor and as needed, for other ministerial staff

21.   Perform other duties as assigned
