Holy Week is the traditional name given to Jesus’ last week before his death, burial, and resurrection. The week begins with Palm Sunday, quietly moves to Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and finally concludes with the celebration of Christ’s resurrection on Easter Sunday! At FBCMW we will mark these crucial events in the life of our faith through worship.
PALM SUNDAY
On Palm Sunday (April 2nd), we will remember Jesus’ Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey while crowds cheered, laying palm branches at His feet. Our children will process through the sanctuary, waving their own palm branches during our morning services.
HOLY WEEK MID-DAY SERVICES
There will be mid-day services Monday-Thursday (April 3rd-6th) of Holy Week. These services will be at noon in Fellowship Hall, last about half an hour, and will be followed by a light lunch.
GOOD FRIDAY
On Good Friday (April 7th), we will have a service at 6:30 p.m. to reflect on Christ's suffering, and salvific work at Calvary. Through sharing God's word, singing, and corporately meditating on the gospel, we hope to prepare our hearts and minds for the joy of the resurrection which we will celebrate Easter morning! There will be light refreshments, and a time of fellowship immediately following the service.
RESURRECTION SUNDAY (EASTER)
Easter Sunday morning (April 9th) will culminate the events of Holy Week as we gather to celebrate and worship our risen Savior! Two identical worship services will begin at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
