smCOMPTON-BILLY-360 Dr. Billy Compton, Senior Pastor

”Bro. Billy” has returned to First Baptist, Mt. Washington, after serving for the second time on staff at the Kentucky Baptist Convention. He pastored FBCMW in the mid-’90’s, and also pastored Severn’s Valley in Elizabethtown, and Calvary Baptist Church in Glasgow, and Living Hope Baptist Church in Bowling Green. He is a graduate of Campbellsville University, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Fuller Theological Seminary.
jakeDr. Marc Brown, Worship and the Arts

Marc joined the staff in 2015 after serving churches in Indiana and Virginia. Having grown up in Bowling Green, he is a is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and received his doctorate in Worship Studies from the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies. Marc is married to Cyndi, and they have a daughter, Miriam.
John Tappan, Education/Administration

John joined the staff in 2001 after serving churches in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. He and his wife, Susan, are Mississippi natives. John is a graduate of Mississippi College and Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. The Tappans have grown sons and grandchildren in Lancaster, PA and Rome, GA. They enjoy hiking and camping.

Jason Johnson, Students

Jason was born in North Carolina but grew up in Orlando, Florida, where God called him into vocational Christian ministry while attending college. Jason served as Youth Pastor and Minister of Missions at a church in Florida before his move to Kentucky. He has served as the Minister of Youth here since 2008. Jason holds degrees from Luther Rice Seminary and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jason is married to Kayla. He and his wife love to travel.

Jennifer Harris, Preschool & Children

Jennifer joined the staff in 2002 after serving at a church in Knoxville, Tennessee. She holds a degree from the University of Tennessee and has taken several childhood education classes at Southern Seminary. She and her husband Chris have three boys, Paul, Davis, and Cole.
Cameron Ford, Young Adults, Missions, & Congregational Care

Cameron was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. Cameron recently served as pastor of FBC Chattahoochee, a successful revitalization on the Upper Westside of Atlanta. Prior to that, God also used him to help plant one of the first SBC church plants in the city of Atlanta. Cameron, along with his wife, Melanie, and two children, Rhyan and Mollianne, moved to Mt. Washington to connect young adults and families to FBCMW. Cameron seeks to complete his seminary education at Southern Seminary. For fun and exercise he enjoys cycling and skateboarding.

jakeJake Lynch, Outreach, Assimilation & Activities

Jake is a native of Mt. Washington, KY and joined the staff in 2013. He is a graduate of Sullivan University and Boyce Bible College. Jake is currently pursuing his graduate degree at Southern Seminary. Jake has served at churches in KY and IN. While serving at a church in KY, Jake met his wife Alicia.
MatheniaAdrian Mathenia, Associate Worship Leader & Youth Worship Leader

Adrian joined the staff in June 2014. He is a Boyce College student majoring in Worship
and Pastoral Studies and is the audio/sound technician for The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He graduated from Southwestern Community College in Belleville, Illinois, with an Associate in Arts degree. He is married to Angeline who teaches at Zion Christian Preschool, also in Louisville.
CastlenJim Castlen, Senior Adults

Jim joined our staff in July 2014. He is a graduate of Berea College, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife Shelby served with the International Mission Board in the Philippines (1972-1988) and in Australia (1988-1990). He was on the faculty of Clear Creek Baptist Bible College from 1990-2002 and then served as Director of Missions with the Three Forks Baptist Association in Eastern Kentucky for nearly twelve years. He and Shelby were married in 1966 and have two grown children and two grandchildren.
